USB40 Troubleshooting Guide

Your Digital On Hold Messaging equipment will be connected to your main phone equipment. Please locate the equipment then work through the steps below emailing our Customer Service Team with your results to info@1800onhold.com.au

Step 1: Reset Procedure
Firstly, pull the power cable out of the back of the unit and the USB drive out of the front.

Wait 5 seconds. Now re-connect the power cable & then USB drive. After approx 10 secs the audio should start playing.

To test on hold is playing again call from an external line and place yourself on hold. Is the on hold working again?

If YES please email us at info@1800onhold.com.au to let us know.

If NO got to STEP 2.

Step 2: Power Light/LED
The LED on the front of the unit should be solid red when the unit is receiving correct power.

Is the LED RED or NOT PRESENT?

If LED is RED go to STEP 3.

If LED NOT PRESENT please check you have power connected (the display screen should be working). If you can confirm there is power to the unit and the LED is not illuminating your power supply may need replacing, if this is the case email us at info@1800onhold.com.au to let us know.

Step 3: Connection of External Cables
Make sure all cables are connected and are firmly seated into the USB40 as shown in the diagram above. Please ensure lead from your phone system is inserted firmly in the 600OHM Audio port. The other end of the audio lead should connect to phone system or a phone socket in wall. Are the cables connected correctly?

If YES continue to STEP 4.

If NO please rectify and go to STEP 4.

Step 4: Volume
Situated on the back of the unit is a volume knob. This is used to adjust the volume. If you push the speaker button in you should be able to hear the audio from the player. Turn the Volume knob clockwise until you hear your message. Then call your phone number using your mobile phone to be placed on hold and adjust volume to desired level.  Did this fix the problem?

If YES please email us at info@1800onhold.com.au to let us know you're back on the air!

If NO please email us at info@1800onhold.com.au to let us know you've completed all of these steps but you're on hold messaging is still not working!
